  3. Ok Alycia I’m a little slow at joining your blog, but I have stopped by quite often. I’m so very proud of you!! Continue to let your excellent creative juices flow.

    • Linda, you are really such a doll! I’m up to my elbows in trying to get the house ready for Thanksgiving. We’re having a few more people this year than usual, so I’m a little hinky. (Is that a real word?) Looking forward to seeing your post later this week, too! Take care, and enjoy this crazy week!!!!!

    • Thank you so much for stopping by! I so appreciate your generous and kind comments!!! I generally post once a week, so feel free to pop in any time or subscribe so that you’ll get new ideas each week! Happy New Year to you and yours, and thanks again!!!

    • I’m glad you found it, too!!! Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you’ll visit often. I post at least once a week (my husband and I are entertaining FOOLS over here!!!), and I’m always delighted to share! Have a wonderful week, and thanks again for stopping in! 🙂

    • Oooohh!! Thank you, Carolyn!!! You are SO sweet! And thank you for becoming a subscriber. I hope I don’t let you down in the coming months! My goal is to inspire others to go for broke when setting a table, even if it’s just for your same old friends. Believe me…they’ll start dressing better, acting more civilized, and they’ll bring you much better wine for a hostess gift! 🙂 Happy New Year to you, and thanks again!

    • Thank you, Fay! I appreciate that very much, and I’m so glad you took a little time to stop by! I also am delighted to have you as a subscriber! I post photos once or twice a week depending on how many dinner parties we host in a given week. I hope you continue to enjoy what goes up, and please let me know if there is ever some idea you would like to see carried to fruition for inspiration. I’m always happy to do what I can to help others get revved up and get a head start on a tablescaping project! Have a wonderful week, and thank you again for your incredibly kind comment!

    • Hello, Novetta, and thank you for your kind comments!!! I am not sure what BUNCO is, but I am going to Google it and get back to you as soon as possible! I’m pretty sure it’s a card game, right? Tell me…do you and your friends like to go a little bit glam for your card parties or prefer it to be a bit scaled back? This is going to be fun!

  4. I do decorations for events held by our church’s womens ministry. I found your blog while researching ideas for an April retreat. Beautiful site! Thank you for sharing your ideas and talent. Sincerely, Brenda

  5. Hello, Brenda, and thank you for visiting! I so appreciate your comments, and I hope you were able to find something of inspiration that might be useful for upcoming events at your church. I post about once a week, generally on Wednesday evenings, so please feel free to stop back in! Better yet, I’d be delighted to have you as a subscriber/follower so that you get posts right away. Either way, always happy to have visitors! Have a wonderful day, and stay warm!

    • Hooray!!! Thank you! Maybe someday I’ll figure out how to work my email and everything so that I know what the heck is going on! 😉 Oh…that reminds me…to subscribe, be sure to respond to the confirmation email that WordPress sends to you. I think you just have to hit a “confirm” button or something like that. WordPress has that weird feature. Hope you had a glorious weekend! I’m still recovering from all the chili and fixins’! Take care, and thanks again!!!

  6. Alycia: I am so excited to be on here! You are so talented, I love everything you do looking forward to following your blog…

    • Hello, Cindy, and thank you so much!!! What a sweet thing to say! I hope you become a follower, too. I really enjoy imparting a little inspiration! Thank you so much for popping in, have a wonderful weekend, and I hope to hear from you again soon. Oh…and if there’s ever a tablescape you need help getting started or amping up a bit, I’d be happy to help if I can! Take care!

    • Why, thank you, Felicia! Hey…our names are similar! 🙂 I really appreciate it that you took the time to stop in and visit. I enjoy doing this “blogazine”, and it makes me happy to know when it is enjoyed. I have a lot of really special settings coming up in the next few months, so I do hope you will stop in again often or, better yet, become a subscriber/follower. Thank you again for stoppping in, and I wish you and yours a happy and safe St. Patrick’s Day!

    • Hi, Andrea! I wondered where on earth you had disappeared to!!! I thought that surely we would all hear from you around Mardi Gras time. Glad to see you’re back up and running. Hope all is well with you! Thanks so much for finding me again! I’ve been a busy bee on here these last several months. Our personal social calendar has slowed a bit to accommodate the time I need to spend as we plan the party for my Mom’s retirement from the Missouri Senate, so now I’m taking on the requests of readers. It’s fun, plus I can do it at a much different pace than if I was planning something at home for actual people. We’ll be rockin’ more parties around here come Easter and beyond, though. I hope you had a wonderful Mardi Gras celebration. I saw the pretty mask you were giving away! Take good care, and please stop in again! Have a great week!!!

    • Thanks, Marlis. I just don’t see your email address on her subscription rolls on Word Press. If you are getting e-mails of all the comments everyone leaves for her, you probably clicked on a button that has since been removed from her site. Try again by just going to the bottom of this page, click on the box where it says to subscribe, leave a comment letting me know you’ve done it, and click on Subscribe. You will then get a confirmation e-mail from Word Press asking you to confirm your subscription by clicking on a link. Once you do that a notice will come to Alycia’s e-mail box letting me know you are officially subscribed. I will email you to let you know so you don’t worry about it. I have a light patient load tonight so I am checking her e-mail regularly. This is a lot of work. I don’t know how you ladies do this!

    • OK, Maggie. I just got the confirmation that you confirmed with Word Press. Thank you for following up. I just wanted to make sure to keep it fair for everybody. I know Alycia has worked hard on this and while she is sick I am trying to keep everything going on it. Good luck on the contest. Thanks again. -Ramon

    • OK thanks. It just came up. I’m just doing everything I can to make this successful for Alycia. She was so excited to do this whole thing with Mikasa and she has been so happy since she started the blog and she has made new friends. It has really helped in her retirement to make it easier. Good luck on the contest.

    • I just checked your e-mail address against the e-mail address sent by Word Press with your comment and your are OK. You are subscribed. Thank you very much for following up. I am just trying to make sure everybody is officially subscribed so that everybody has a fair chance. Alycia has worked very hard on this whole thing and I want it to go right. So you are OK. Good luck on the contest and thanks again.

  14. I thought I was a follower (because your updates always show in my blogger dashboard) but I guess I am not a subscriber! So hopefully I am doing this correctly. 🙂

Then heading over to the Mikasa FB site to post a photo! I wasn’t going to participate because I’m kind of a newbie with tablescapes — but decided to go for it anyway. Fun!

    What a very exciting giveaway!

    • Hello, Carolyn. Alycia is out sick, but because the contest is winding to a close tomorrow I (her husband) am just following up. I just got the confirmation of your confirmation on her e-mail, and you are now a subscriber/follower. Thanks very much and good luck to you and to everybody who entered.

  15. Love your designs! Thought I followed you but….I guess not. I am trying to now! Looking forward in enjoying your creative side and style! Awesome give away…Hope I win. I have been eying these dishes every since they came out! Thanks for an awesome give away!

    • Hi, Andrea, and thanks so much for stopping by. I so appreciate it. I also appreciate your participation in the Mikasa Giveaway. Those ARE awesome dishes, and the race is tight. Everyone presented such beautiful tables. I’ll announce the winner sometime after 12:00 noon (CDT) on Friday. Thanks again for stopping in. Have a great weekend!

  16. Hope you feel better soon. I’m a bit under the weather today myself. 😉
Beautiful set of dishes. I’d love to add them to our cupboards. Thanks for the chance.
    ~ Sarah

  17. I am trying to subscribe to your beautiful blog — thanks for telling me I was not! (I thought I was) I hope I hit the right button this time — I am pretty inept with some of the computer functions!

    • Hooray, Cindy! You did it!!! Thank you!!! I’ve been way under the weather, but I will be back on the party circuit and posting new stuff soon! I’m itchin’ to get out of this bed and back on my old beat! Thanks again, and please tell Jenny hello for me!

    • Thank you so much, Phyllis! I appreciate that! I hope to bring lots of inspiring tablescapes in the months to come. My husband, on the other hand, is shaking his head, cradling his wallet, and asking over and over, “Why do we have to keep feeding all these people?” 🙂 Have a great weekend, and thanks for following!

    • Hi, Maureen! Thank you so much!!! I’m looking forward to creating lots of pretty new tables in the coming months. LOTS of entertaining dates already on the calendar for spring and summer! Enjoy your weekend!!!

  18. A friend of my future-mother-in-law sent me the link to your page and I have to say I’m sooo glad that he did! I love, love, love the arrangements and table settings! I love it for two reasons. I’m getting married in November and event planning is what I want to do! I have always loved entertaining and seeing people enjoy themselves! I’m trying to plan my own wedding (it’s not easy when it’s your own). Once my wedding is done I will be planning my retirement from the Navy also.

    • Hi, Cheryl, and wow….thank you!!! Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials. This must be a really wild time for you. Although November is 7 months away, that seems like 2 months in “bride time.” 🙂 I am glad you have landed here and hope you can get some inspiration from the various vignettes. I will be posting lots more Wedding, Spring and Summer settings in the coming months. I hope you will become a follower so that you can be privy to regular updates. I post once a week on average, although we entertain a lot at home so that is subject to increase. Thank you for your service in our Armed Forces, and congratulations on your pending retirement. Let me know if I can offer any suggestions in the field of event planning as you move in that direction or if I can offer solutions for your own decorating dilemmas as you continue to plan for your wedding day. Have a wonderful weekend, and thank you again for stopping by! (Thanks also to your future MIL’s friend who passed the link along!)

  19. Good morning, Dianne! Yes, thank you…feeling much better this morning! I am actually up and sitting in my office chair which is a vast improvement over just two short days ago! It feels good to be back at my desk with my lightning fast computer instead of Ramon’s pokey laptop! 🙂 (Not to say I am not grateful that he provided me with it yesterday!) I am sitting here grappling over the contest winner. There were such good entries all around, and the decision is not an easy one. I wish everybody could win! Thanks for checking in on me! I’ll post the winner (still with a heavy heart for those who didn’t win!) around noon (CDT)!

    • Hi thre, Janet! Thank you so much for visiting! It makes me so happy to “meet” new people here! I hope you will subscribe/follow so that you can receive updated photos. I tend to post 1-2 time each week depending on how busy our social calendar is. We entertain a LOT here at home, and it’s always a fun opportunity to dress up the table. Again, thank you for your visit, and I hope to talk to you again soon! Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

    • Thank you so much! You are very sweet to say so! I’m looking forward to bringing you more fun tablescapes in the months to come. If ever you need an idea for an upcoming event, please let me know and I’ll be happy to help. Have a great week, and I look forward to “seeing” you again soon!

    • YOU, my dear, are a sweetheart, and I thank you from the top of my head to the tips of my toes! I look forward to chatting with you in the months ahead! Have a fabulous weekend, and thanks again for subscribing!

  20. Hi Alycia,

Thanks for your visit and your very sweet comments today. And thank you for becoming a follower on my blog! We’ll have some fun visits. I am subscribing to follow your blog as well, so I hope I do this correctly.

    Take care,

    • Hello, Jane! Thank you so much! I’m not sure if you will start to receive them, however, until you complete the final step which is to click on the link from WordPress in the confirmation email they send when you subscribe. I think that’s their way of keeping us on this end honest! 🙂 Thank you for visiting, and please do pop in on my latest post, Barton’s Easter Brunch. I just got around to posting it this evening. Have a wonderful week, and I look forward to hearing from you from time to time!

    • Thank you so much! Glad you took the time to stop in and browse…and REALLY glad that you so graciously subscribed to my blogazine! I am on a short hiatus, but look forward to sharing more with you in the coming months. Have a wonderful week!!!

    • Hello, and thank you very much for your subscription to Tablescapes at Table Twenty-One! I really appreciate it, and while I have been on a short hiatus, I hope to return in a couple of weeks to post fun new tablescapes each week. I visited your gorgeous website this morning, and loved it!!!

  21. Hello Alycia, I’m glad your back. I have been eagerly awaiting your return and I was not disappointed. Your tablescapes are stunning! I’m sorry to read that you have suffered such a painful experience recently and wish you happier times ahead. I am very new to ‘blog land’, having only discoved this world of like minded people earlier this year (previously I thought I must be a bit odd fantasizing about tablescapes as I did). Maybe one day I’ll venture into creating one of my own, but until then I look forward to reading yours. Thank you. I live in Lichfield, Staffordshire, England and this week we are getting ready to welcome HRH Queen Elizabeth to our City an event I am also looking forward to.

    • Hi, Cindy!!!!!!! Thanks for hanging in there and coming back to visit!!! I’m so glad you did! Sorry I was away for so long. Life got in the way. We are slowly coming back from a very painful experience, but it’s good to come back to so much love! I hope you DO create a table or two to share with us all someday soon. I would love to see your creation! Maybe you can do one in honor of HRH Queen Elizabeth’s visit! You are not the least bit odd for loving tablescapes…it’s a wonderful preoccupation! By the way, I LOVE the way you “talk.” I can almost hear your beautiful lilting accent in the typed words. I don’t know if you know just how fabulous the British sound to us here. I think it’s the most intriguing accent in the world. Staffordshire…as in where they make the gorgeous and very expensive figurines that I could never afford to buy Staffordshire??? Wow!!! Amazing! I have never been across the ocean, but my Mom, sister and neice travel there on occasion. They have all been to England and LOVED it! Thank you so much again for stopping back in, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for becoming a subscriber. Have a wonderful week, and I look forward to talking to you again soon!

  22. Dear Alycia,

Thank you so much, and hello from Istanbul to you too.

My mom will be trilled as everyone loved the tbale cloth so you made my day and hers.

Thank you for visiting, please do come back.

    Lots of Love,

    Karin Şen Cankan
