Special occasions deserve the imagination and time that go into a well-dressed table. Tablescapes at Table Twenty-One is a teaching blog showcasing tablescapes I have personally designed to truly entertain my guests while making them feel pampered and special.  Many are perfect for at-home entertaining as well as weddings, showers, rehearsal dinners, and engagement parties (I am, after all, a retired wedding designer!).
I vigorously aspire to the late, great poet Maya Angelou’s quote:

…pursue the things you love doing,
and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off you

Tablescaping is the thing I absolutely love to do. I hope this blog serves to educate, engage, enlighten, entertain, and inspire you.

  1. WOW! The colors really pop! This is one of my favorite’s! ANOTHER creative tablescape! Love the pink and black! These women have wonderful cakes! I should say beautiful, yummy, creative cakes! BRAVO Alycia! Love the new blog also. It is much user friendly!

  2. Alicia, Everything thing looks fabulous! This blog is great too. I remember the wedding with the kids tent, the pictures don’t do it justice, it was beautiful.

    • Thank you, Ebony! I miss those days…sometimes! 🙂 We had a lot of fun, but we worked like dogs!!! The Dockhorn wedding remains as one of my all-time favorites! We got to do pretty much anything we wanted!!! They will always be in my heart, as will YOU!

  3. I am so proud of you! Thank God you are still sharing your wonderful talents and beautiful spirit! I opened every single link. Your taste and talent are truly a gift. You are something special. Everything is simply fantastic! I am telling all my friends about your blog. I will be in touch soon. We have to break bread together very soon. You are amazing! However, I knew that years ago. Do you know we are still receiving praise about Ebonie’s wedding and reception? You go girl!

  4. As with all your endeavors you will succeed with this as well. Each update that you write could be a blog unto itself. Each and everyone will inspire many people for many years to come.

  5. Alycia, I finally had time to browse through your blog…It is great! Thank goodness I found you for my kids’ weddings. But, mostly I’m glad I found you for ME. You are truly inspirational in many ways. Your friend, Rene

  6. Hello Alycia: You don’t know me, however, we have a bit in common. I am from Kansas City, Missouri and I graduated from Central High School with your cousin Deidre. I have been following your Facebook page vicariously for many months, but I thought I would write to let you know how much I admire your design and style. Colin Cowie and Preston Bailey have bigger names but you are truly an inspiration to all of us who know that presentation is everything. I have a small company in Los Angeles called “I’ll See To It” and I do special events and provide services for people who know the difference between ordinary and extraordinary. Keep up the good work and I hope you don’t mind the intrusion.

What a blessing!! This user-friendly website is terrific!!! Alycia, I love this new format, and will visit the Blog site often.

  8. Absolutely love the pink stemware. I would like some pink glasses, but first I have to find places for the red ones I just bought. My husband keeps asking when the boxes are going to be cleared out!

  9. Thank you, Jacqueline! Actually, I wish I could find THIS pattern in red! Oh…and tell your husband you’re trying to be a responsible citizen and waiting for just the right time to take the boxes to the recycling bin. That’ll take care of that! 🙂

  10. First of all, thank you for visiting my little blog and for your wonderful comments. You may have made my hubby impossible to live with. Haha! Just kidding. Lots of people think he looks like that Viggo actor. One lady in our phramacy just about passes out everytime we go in. She’s so cute and I can’t blame her. Haha! Makes me laugh just thinking about it.
Secondly, I am happy that I figured out your user friendly format. Very cool!
And finally, your tablescapes are gorgeous!! I love them ALL!
Thank you again for visiting. My husband thanks you, too. :/

  11. Thank you, Teri! You’re very kind! Also, Viggo Mortensen…yes! I can see that, too! Wow…he must get a LOT of stares & autograph seekers! 🙂 Have a great day, and thanks for visiting my blog! My best to Viggo/Sam!

  12. Hi Alycia
Thank you so much for stopping by the Back Porch. You are about 3.5 hours from us, I believe. Our daughter lives out at Independence. We aren’t far from I-70. You would absolutely love visiting All About Home.

I am trying to rebuild my blog. I have had a blog for 3.5 years. It vanished about three weeks ago. I can now get back into that blog but decided to move. Almost like starting over new!

I am going to browse your beautiful site.

    • I just talked to my Mom, and she corrected me: It was Troy, KS where we visited. Nonetheless, Troy, MO sounds like a wonderful place to visit for shopping!!! It’s possible that my husband and I passed through there on our recent visit to Tennessee. We went through St. Louis which is along I-70, so I’m just guessing. At any rate, beautiful display! I’m sorry to hear about your blog vanishing on you, too, but glad you were able to find it again. I didn’t know that could happen! Now I’m a little freaked out! I’ll have to take some kind of precaution for back up. Thanks for the heads up. ENjoy your weekend!!!

  13. Hi Alycia!
I am so glad you stopped by Artfully Graced so I could “meet” you. Your website is beautiful and filled with so many wonderfully inspirational ideas. You can be sure I will stop in to visit a lot. There’s so much to see!
    Jane (artfully graced)

  14. Hi Alycia…

Ohhh…this is lovely! A pink lovers dream for sure! I just adore that beautiful etched pink goblet…it sparkles!!! What a beautiful presentation, my friend! Thank you for sharing it with us!

I also wanted to thank you for stopping by and taking a peek at my Autumn Enchantment table and mantel! I really enjoyed your visit and your sweet note! Thank you!!!

    Warmest autumn wishes,
    Chari @Happy To Design

  15. Oh my! What a beautiful photograph of beautiful piece of stemware! I’ve been looking through some of your other settings, and they are all so inspiring. laurie

  16. Hi Alycia, just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my little blog and leaving a message. i am so glad you liked the table setting I am not a designer so coming from you it means a lot ! Thanks again .

  17. What a beautiful table. I love the color of those roses! I actually had these plates in my cart at HomeGoods months ago and I put them back (trying so hard to be good)! Now I see how beautiful they are on the table…maybe I made a mistake!

  18. I just scrolled through your beautiful French tablescape with the lovely roses on the brown cloth. What a beautiful party! Love the rolled napkins too.. laurie

  19. Alycia-

Thank you for that GREAT comment, I was laughing so hard– especially about the wine stopper!!!! I was looking through your blog and you are VERY talented yourself. I can’t wait to sit down when I have more time and read more and more 🙂

I wanted to tell you that I had done a whole party with oranges, so for you to check it out. I actually wanted to leave this in email form, but I don’t see where I can email you privately! Anyway, check out the August archives of my blog and see. I saw that you did a table with oranges as well, and it was GORGEOUS!

  20. Hello,
Lovely vibrant colors! Love the stemware! I absolutely love Carolyn Roehm! She can do the ultra chic and the rustic! Elegant lady!
    Thanks for stopping by!

    • Thank you so much, Cindy!!! I appreciate your sweet comment! I’ve been moping around the house all day struggling with what to do with the 2 tables I have to set for Thanksgiving. You’ve given me renewed energy to figure it out!!!

  21. Alycia, Alycia, Alycia!!! I have just figured out how to navigate your blog and I have spent part of the afternoon and evening checking out every single page. Believe me, nothing was uninspected! I even took my laptop into the kitchen so I could keep browsing while I cooked dinner. And now, I can’t BELIEVE that THAT Alycia is sending me such sweet comments on my postings. Wow!!! I’m having a moment!! Are there too many exclamation points in this?

  22. Thanks for visiting Slice of Pie … and I’m so glad I’ve visited your site! You have filled it with wonderful pictures and helpful information … and it is easy to find! Thanks for sharing so much. Happy Holidays!

  23. Hello sweet girl,

Thank you so much to come and dropped by in freezing Stockholm, every now and then. I had a problem logging in your blog last week-end with my Shadow meme.

Anyhow, girl! you really rocks! My daughter and me love the colour combination and the stemware? I do adore it. My style, my likes…very romantic, girlie and so elegant. Me LIKE.

Take care and happy TS to you.

  24. Hi Alycia! Thanks for stopping by Food As Art. I appreciate your visit. I really love your silver chargers with the red ribbon to make them look like a present. How creative! I like your centerpiece with the eucalyptus too. A very, very elegant table. Blessings, Beth

  25. Your comment on my blog made me SMILE SMILE SMILE! Thank you so very much! I love your site! You are very talented…can’t wait to look around more on your blog.

    • Hi, Katy, and thank you so much for stopping by! I’m glad my comment made you smile, but turnabout was only fair play because your family-style table was fantastic! I just think family- and Tuscan-style tables make dining so much more fun and the decorating possibilities are absolutely endless!!! The sight of multiple dishes and stemware and flatware and centerpiece items marching up the table…it takes my breath away just to think about it! SO…looking forward to keeping in touch as we scape away in the coming months! Have a terrific weekend, and I’ll see you next week on TT!

  26. “If ever there was a time to find and consult with a smarmy, underhanded, slimy attorney, that was it!!! ”

Despite what I imagine to be a rather big age difference, I think we could be friends.
    Thanks for the laughs.

    • Hi, Denise! I just couldn’t resist! Your story was SO funny!!! I could just imagine the negotation that took place between the two of you! I don’t know how much of an age difference there is between us (hubby & I are grandparents), but I am SURE we could be friends! Thank YOU (and your husband!) for the grins on this end! 🙂

  27. Everytime I come here I am blown away!! You do such great work, you are so creative and talented, I love everything (especially those silver epergnes)! It’s so inspiring to see your lovely creations!! Thanks, also, for your support!

  28. Hey! Thanks for visiting my magnolia tablescape … but don’t hop a plane to Chicago because I’m 6 hours south … just 100 miles from St. Louis … Probably closer to you than to Chicago! That’s why we have magnolia trees …

    Merry Christmas!

    • Hi, Debbie! I just re-read that and saw how I misunderstood. Duh! I need to put my thinking cap on a little tighter!!! I’m looking out the window now at my neighbor’s magnolia tree and wondering how I might dig it up and transplant it to our yard without them noticing! 🙂 Have a happy and warm weekend!

  29. The progressive dinner looked really fun and the food sounded great. We had a family progressive dinner last Sunday and the extended family wnts to do one this Sunday. I love seeing everyone’s homes. I would love to see yours in person, wouldn’t that be fun! I am going to have to use the ribbons on the plates and chargers, that is so fun, like a present, which giving a dinner really is. We had a surprise 50th birthday party for a friend tonight at our house and it really felt like a present that we were giving. Have a great day!

    • Hi! Great to hear from you!!! Progressive dinners ARE fun…I’ve always thought it a good way to see how everyone’s homes are decorated (holidays or not!) and take the pressure off of a single household. I wish my extended family would want to do this…we’d have a blast! Glad you like the idea about the ribbon on the chargers. Just another way to add a little pizzazz, a little color. I’m always trying to think up new (an cost effective!) ways to bring a little pow to the table. Have a great weekend!!!!!! 🙂

  30. You know how much I adore colored glass stemware — that’s a gorgeous one! And the pink flower and background really set it off. Lovely post and I so appreciate you stopping by to see my table. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Jane

  31. Alycia,

YES! I have many wonderful memories of growing up in the Kansas City Area. . .East of the river for me! We left KC when I was 12 and I met the “love of my life” in High School at age 13! We’ve been together ever since.

You are still pumping out the elegant bling. I hope you are settled in. The blog looks beautiful.

  40. Thank you so much for your sweet comment about my screened in sun-room that Susan featured today for her Metemorphosis Monday.
We’ve enjoyed our little room so much this summer minus the bugs and the baking sun! Plus I can go in and change it up every once in a while to suite my mood and or season!
    Thanks again,
    Terry at La Bella Vie

  49. Hi my sweet Alycia! New Year’s Eve I’m going to be kind of busy, I’ll be having the family for an early dinner, which I did my last table post of 2011 on. Most of them have parties to go to…we’re going to stay home and watch some movies and I am looking forward to do so! I didn’t want to go ahead with plans without thanking you, my dear blog friend, for all the wonderful posts you have shared and for the great inspiration from them I received, therefore, I only wish for you and yours the very best of everything for the New Year 2012!

  50. Hi Dear Lady A,
It toke me forever to do. I am not good in this either, however, you have to register first on Networked blogs. Then, I manage to find out:You have to go to your own blog where you can add friends.

I will revert later and will give you the specific answer.

Thank you so much for coming by,

  51. Hi dear A,
    Am back as promised.

Well, go to dashboard then you can see “Reading list” below of this, “Add” you can see an “Add” button. Copy your bloggiefriend’s blogaddress and just add. Hopefully, it will help.

    Hope we both manage §;-)

    Have a blessed w/end ahead.

  52. What can I say that I haven’t already? You are the queen of tables, my dear. Love the wonderful colors and sparkle. I could spend hours here. Enjoy the rest of your week. Linda

  53. Hi Alycia….How on earth have I missed your blog! I absolutely love it and have just signed up for emails from you. WOW are you ever talented! Hey a big thankyou for commenting on my post. It meant alot. If you lived around here I’d have you come to the birthday luncheon. And yes I’d even have you come early to help decorate. (smile). You have alot of talent girlfriend, and I’m so impressed.

  54. Just came over from my Trish’s Treasure and have been reading around your site, have especially loved reading your Table Tips, so inspiring. Thank you.

  55. Aha! Here you are!! 🙂 Now I remember how to get there. My stemware comes from Estate sales etc. Otherwise it can be very pricey if you find something that is CRYSTAL and just gorgeous!

  56. Awesome table. Wedding perfect. Great use of patterned tablecloth to support the simple blue and white dishes. The peonies are the snap, crackle, and pop that make the table delicious. You’re a master! Happy days in May.

  57. I saw the ads for Dallas, but didn’t know it was starting already. We didn’t watch it until JR was shot last time. It brings back fun memories of when we were first married.

  58. Hi Alycia~Thanks so much for your kind visit and lovely words. It is always my pleasure to see you at my humble site.
I am a huge fan of your stunning tablescapes and OMG what an amazing inspiration here!
LOVE LOVE the beautiful colours and bold textures. Perfect for weeding.
Thanks so much for sharing, this is just awesome 🙂

    Wish you a great weekend.

  59. I swoon over tablescapes and have had so much going through your blog. Are they all yours? Your friends and family must be so excited to be invited to your house! I am your newest follower.

  60. You are amazingly talented! Such loveliness and inspiration. I am definitely bookmarking your site!

Thank you so very much for your kind comments on my farm to table feast.
It may surprise you to learn that under the linen were 3 fold up tables.

Now I am off to look at more goodness on your site!

  61. Alycia, Thanks for your lovely comment on my tablescape!! About the work light, it is a clamp light that just attaches to anything and has a plug. No wiring, or anything required except something to clamp it on to. You can turn the light in any direction to highlight whatever you want also. They have them even at Walmart in the work lighting section. Funny thing is my mom has been using them for years and I never even noticed.

  62. Alycia, Thank you for the tablescaping classes for fall and winter decorating. I SO MUCH enjoyed your classes. You have such a lovely personality that carries over to your tables and my inspirations. You are in my ear and head girl!!!! I hope this message finds you doing well.

  63. Alycia–how exciting–what a wonderful tv presentation! You look gorgeous, as does your exquisite table that you presented! Always love to hear from you, and glad you enjoyed my little Dollar Tree spiced nuts idea–I love Dollar Tree:) I hope that you and your family have a fantastic Thanksgiving!

  64. OMG, OMG, OMG!!!! I can’t believe I finally got to do a one-way “meet” by seeing you “live”!!! I’m so excited!!! How cool is that that you were on TV….probably not your first time, but I think it’s awfully, awfully cool!!! You know what I think of your incredible talent–it’s way, way, way extreme, and it’s so cool to see it recognized! Your table was beautiful. I chuckled because your host talked about people being intimidated–can you imagine if she’d seen some of your gorgeous, over-the-top tables??!!

Thank you for visiting me and your sweet, warm comments–they always mean the world to me. I even read them to my husband. 🙂

    Way cool, my friend. ~Zuni

  65. Hi Alycia,
Thanks so much for leaving me encouraging comments on my blog. Your words always make me smile! If only I were closer to MO, I’d be enrolled as one of your students. You have so much to teach with your beautiful tables and talent! Can I come to one of your parties?! I hope you are soaking in the much needed rest you deserve!

  66. Alycia, you so deserve a good break, dear friend! I’m thankful and appreciative of all your funny, thoughtful, kind, encouraging comments you share with me. I am always inspired by your excellent creativity in all your beautiful work. I soooo love that you make me laugh. Thanks, too, for your prayers when they were needed!! Happy 2013!!!!! xo
p.s. I wish I could take one of your classes. I know your students love you.

  67. Ohhhh…..love your picture. I’ve seen those goblets before and have always admired them, yet never have purchased them. Seeing how pretty they are on your table, I may give in and finally buy myself some one day. Thank you for dropping by my blog and leaving a kind comment. I always enjoy seeing you. Wishing you a very wonderful 2013!

  68. Dear Lady A,
Hope you had a great moment with all your lovelies. Break is good for our health.

I am loving colours and you me? Mismatching with colours is my expertise.

Wish you could visit me in the Philippines nxt year as me & GH will celebrate our silver wedding anniversary and we want to have our 4th wedding (again?)

Enjoy the rest of the day and wishes you all the best and more power to year 2013. Take good care.

    /CC girl

  69. Well, my dear lovely Alycia…you are by far the most talented tablescaper, EVER!!! I have enjoyed your tables, forever, gorgeous and inspiring, and your friendship formost! You are also a very smart lady with the most fabulous sense of humor, it’s such a treat for me to see you around my posts and I feel so humble by your always so encouringing and kind comments. Once more, thank you so much darling for sharing your unique and fabulous tablescapes in 2012 and for you generous visits. Looking forward to more of my sweet friend Alycia at Tablescape at Table 21!

  70. Alycia, thank you for the comment. You must watch all the Downton Abbeys, on Netflix or something! The table settings alone are worth it, plus much more to LOVE! Hope you are having a nice break. Your classes would be so fun to take, wish I lived closer to you!

    • Hey there, Lynn!!! I’ve been slacking lately. I had to take a little break from blogging and the computer so that I could focus on getting Christmas stuff put away and then resting my shoulders and back. Now it looks as if my surgery won’t be until mid-March (after my Spring tablescaping classes and wedding workshop), so I’ll have lots of time after that to rest. In the meantime, though, I’m poppin’ pills to quell the pain. I’m taking Meloxicam which is very hard on the stomach. I think I may have developed an ulcer because of it. I am now down to taking it only once or twice a week. The rest of the time I have to just suffer in silence. Well, not exactly silence![?]

I’m going to get around to visiting blogs later tonight or perhaps tomorrow. I’m busy trying to get ready for another TV appearance on Monday. That kind of came out of the blue, but I really want to do it so I’m piecing it together little by little. Why couldn’t all this have come when I was a younger, healthier, more mobile woman?!??!?!?!?[?]

So glad you stopped by! I hope all is well in your camp and that the new year is being kind to you. I’ll be by to see what you’ve been up to creatively a little later. Take care![?] Alycia

  71. I just got home from 2 weeks away and walked in and gasped at all of the Christmas decor to put away (and I don’t think mine comes close to rivaling yours!). My oldest daughter came over the next day and she helped for 2 hours and that got me started and YEAH – I am done!

  72. When I talk about tablescaping with co-workers, inevitably I end up saying: “Oh, gosh, open up your browser, you have GOT to take a look at this blog.” Then, we proceed to ooh and ahh over all your wonderful tables. I am looking forward to a year of your amazing table designs!

  73. Girl you always know how to make me laugh out loud. You are just a scream, and I mean that in the fondest of ways. You always lift my spirits with all the positive messages you leave. I’m so very lucky to have you in my life. Hope you’ve survived the putting away of all the Christmas, and are feeling well. Girl we miss your tables I can only imagine how you’re going to W-O-W us this year. hugs ~lynne ~

  74. Alycia, I hope you haven’t worn yourself out putting up the
Christmas decor. I am coveting that gorgeous pink stem in this picture. Looking forward to new tablescapes from you soon. laurie

  75. Hi lovely lady.

Your table looked wonderful and you did too! =D Thanks so much for letting us know about it! I hope they will be featuring you all the time! You have some great tips! =D Hope your Easter was great! =D

  78. That is so wonderful that you were published! The photos are so beautiful, I must find a copy of the magazine to see up close! Congratulations! You deserve it!

  79. Well, you know that I am always “in awe” of what you do and love all of the details that you add to every table. After all, you are the “professional”, retired!!

  80. I just went exploring. Your summer tablescapes are to die for! Loved the orange and the blue checkered tablecloth and gorgeous Candelabra. Your family is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!! Can I go back and pin some tings to my Pinterest boards? I’d do it by linking back!

  81. You are truly the queen of tablescaping!!! Everything you do has such a touch of elegance and romance. Your tables are the best, Alycia. I did not know you were a wedding designer… I should have known… your work give you away!

  82. Hi Alicia…just love your work. It’s so inspiring and gets me to thinking about how I can make something pretty for my family. Wishing you a happy Saturday!

  83. Awe, Alicia, I’m so very sorry to hear about your dad. Sad but sweet, treasured days you are in right now! You are absolutely doing the right thing by taking time to be with him now. I’ll be praying for you and your family!

  84. OH, Dear Alycia, I am terribly sorry to hear about this. My prayers are with you that you will be strengthened and comforted. So glad you are taking the time to be with him, it will be a special memory always! Hugs!!

  85. Sweet Alycia, I just wanted to let you know you are on my mind & in my prayers, as your bury your Father this week. I was so, so sorry to hear of his passing.
I’m sure the knowledge that he is with Our Father is comforting you & your entire family right now. I am praying for all of you to find His Peace.

    Gentle Hugs,

  86. Alycia, you continue to impress us with your beautiful tablescapes. I feel so bad for you that you lost your sweet dear daddy. I know you are missing him. His spirit is with you everyday. I hope you and your family are comforted by his memories. Thank you sweet lady for your continued support. I will get through this mess. I wish you great success with your own medical journey. Take one day at a time and be sure to rest up. xoxo Linda

  87. Wow! I saw Breakfast a Tiffany’s and was expecting a completely different post. A picture does say a thousand words. Very nice!

  88. I love, love, love your tablescape a and website. It puts a smile on m face and I have learned so much from you.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

  89. So many bloggers are looking forward to your return. Prayers continue for your healing, and I am excited to see your new designs. There’s no doubt in my head that your mind has been spinning with ideas all this time. Cherry Kay

    • Hi, Cherry Kay! I’m comin’ back tomorrow, I think. I started strength training on Friday, and I can already feel the positive effects of it. I was SUPER sore on Saturday, but I’m past that now. I held my class last Tuesday here and made it through that, so I’m feeling like I can start doing a bit more without overdoing it. I definitely want to get my house completely back in order before the holidays. Ramon let me buy a bunch of new clothes and shoes and jewelry, etc. as a reward for being so faithful to my PT regimen, so now I need to rearrange closets and my dressing room. That should be fun!

I hope you had a good weekend and that everything is coming up roses for you and Hal! Take care, and I’ll talk to you soon! A

  90. I hope everything is ok?!? I keep checking back to see if you are back, hoping to see another beautiful table. You have me worried about you, but hopefully your are just regrouping and rearranging those closets!! Glad to hear that you have been taking care of yourself and doing your physical therapy. Thinking of you and missing you, Ann

  91. Alycia, hope your recovery is going well. I lost my hotmail account to hackers a while back, so all my addresses went with it. When you are well, we will have to try to get together sometime I am up in the city.
    Hugs to you,

  92. Hi Alycia, I hope you are starting to feel better. I just love your table…So colorful and festive. You make it all so beautiful and easy to follow. Take good care of yourself. xo

  93. Hi Alycia, Beautiful setting and the color so pretty for the season. Such an inviting table. Thank you for stopping by and your kind comment. It is nice to meet you. Wishing you a creative week.
    Hugs, Celestina Marie Design

  94. I know that your mom’s birthday party with be spectacular! I can hardly wait to see it. I just signed up to follow your blog again. For some reason it disappeared, but maybe it was just that you’re taking a break. Oh well, it will all work out. Happy St. Pat’s Day! Cherry Kay

  95. Hi Alycia, thank you for stopping by the table, and for your lovely comments on our Sunflowers brunch. I enjoyed planning every detail. Isn’t that bike amazing? Might just have to borrow it from my daughter from time to time. 😉
I think I may have browsed through your page this week. I absolutely love the title because 21 happens to be my favorite number and a table, well, one of my favorite places in a home.
It’s a pleasure to meet you. I MUST browse a bit longer.

  96. BUELLER? BUELLER? BUELLER??? hahaha I love it!

The tables were fun, but I don’t think I’ll ever attempt a two-table birthday again. 😉 The movie night paper roses; however, are so addictive and I’m already planning more projects with them. 🙂

Hope you’re having a lovely day.

  97. Hi! I came over from Viva La Vintage and I want to join in as a new fan to your fabulous imagination. I think your tablescapes will over me a world of ideas for displays in my shop. Thank you so much for sharing all of your work (which you make look like fun!).

  98. Alycia, LOVE the apple table!!! I wanted to say how much I enjoy your comments and visits! You always make me laugh too. I loved your comment on Debbie’s post (Words on Wheels). I just had to tell you that. Thanks for being a ray of light in a dark world!!

  99. What a fabulous picnic table! I had seen some ants like that featured at a local grocery store and of course when I popped in (which was right away) they were all gone. This is just stunning and would be the funnest picnic table to sit down to ever!
So wish you were my next door neighbor! The fun we would have together!

  100. Silly me, I thought I had commented on this lovely tablescape. love the buddhas, I almost bought some…probably will in the future. This table is so fun and gotta love the chines takeout theme. Beautiful place for your guests to sip cocktails and eat an apetizer or two.

  101. What a pretty picture of you on your home page! And I love the quote! It does indeed say what you pursue and do! Thanks for your sweet comment about my cotton tablescape. Something you may not know about cotton – the burrs, or hulls, that hold the cotton are sharp as razors and was very painful to those who picked cotton. I’ve read that cotton pickers had bloody fingers at the end of the day. So painful to even think about even after all the years that have passed. So thankful for the invention of a machine to “pick” the cotton. (I never picked cotton. My grandmother showed me “how to pick it” but I was only about six years old and didn’t last long!)

  102. It’s good for one to love its gifts 😉 I think. Because you’re certainly one of the most gifted and creatives in the wwworld.
I’ve been dreaming of a Tartan inspired Tablescape. I’m throwing a Thankful Lunch (we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving but there’s so much to be thankful for and we don’t had the in-laws for Lunch for quite some time so I think I’ll start a tradition :)) and though I’m not daring to go full tartan – the kind that would have a 300 pounds’ Scottish guy cry like a baby 😉 – I’m babying the idea of adding tartan accents.
Now that Scottish is heading your way to pick you up and take you to the Highlands – they need you there ahahahah.
WOW, Alycia! WOW and Double WOW!
    So much and so good!!!
    Thank you for sharing,

  103. There is nothing more pretty to me than a beautiful table set in the Christmas and new Years Holiday setting.
I love the sparkle of crystal and chandeliers on a table of red and green.
Soon as Thanksgiving is over I’m bringing out my Christmas dishes and decorating my old vintage cabinets in my kitchen.
I always admire your tabelscapes ‘

i read your comment on another blog that you live in Lee’s Summit ? my sister lives there also and I have been up there from Columbia 3 times already this month.
She is having an auction this weekend and selling lots dishes and vintage cabinets from a house she just sold in Lexington Mo

  104. Those red chair covers just melt me! Wow, they make the table over the top! Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas season and getting everything done you need to do! I always seem to take on too many projects! It is hard to get time to blog with everything going on!

  105. Hi Lady A,
§-( to hear that you are going to undergo surgery. So sorry to hear that. But I know, everything will be OK.

Wishing you all the best and million Bear hugs to you and dear Dr. N.

GB and wishing you the speedy recovery and as many said… YOU will be missed.

  106. So sorry to hear about your surgery! I got major tennis elbow that has been bothering me since October carrying dishes to do a tablescaping class! I can’t imagine how hard back surgery would be. Tablescaping is heavy lifting!!! Take it easy and get better soon!!

  107. Hi Alycia, it’s Deborah from Maryland, long time, no hear! I, too, am sorry to hear about your surgeries. Please know that I am praying for your complete and total healing, and a speedy recovery. The world needs your beautiful spirit and talent. All the best, my friend.
