I have seen this called a “shelfie” on Instagram. OK…works for me! I bought this decidedly contemporary (kinda mid-century modern design?) metal etagere/bookcase at Nell Hills last year to complete the relaxed look in our black & white (with a kiss of caramel!) family room. A playground FOR SURE as I can decorate and redecorate it to my heart’s content each season. For summer, lots of tropics-inspired accessories play alongside the usual suspects. For that unexpected punch of color🥊🥊🥊an original painting by my lifelong friend @nhswift that I absolutely CHERISH…despite my insistence (to her chagrin, I’m sure!😬) on turning it to the horizontal position. I love my little library where I can just sit and “be.” The decor on the secretary changes periodically but remains laden with blue & white accessories, many from @nellhills in Kansas City which is a favorite shopping haunt. That foot tub, for example. Saw it and HAD TO have it! Same for the floral branches which have made the rounds in our home this year. I am no food stylist by ANY stretch of the imagination, but I wanted to share the Sips & Nibbles I set up for a wedding decor meeting at our home last week. (There we’re only 3 of us, but I believe in CHOICES!!!) Being forever COVID conscious, everything was served in individual vessels: Warm Spiced Nuts in tall shot glasses, Loaded Deviled Eggs and sweet bing cherries in mini martini glasses, and 3 kinds of “martini jarcuteries” including Greek, Italian, and Veggie. The ladies were each sent home with a three-pack of my homemade strawberry cupcakes all tied up in the blushing bride’s chosen colors. Ya come to the Nichols’s house…by golly, you’re gonna EAT!!!!!!😄#jarcuterie #horsdoeuvres #appetizerbuffet #cocktailhour #martinibar #letseat
I love my husband so much. I do. He has provided a wonderful life for me, and I am grateful for his love, care, and companionship. We met at a bit later time than the traditional (late 30s), but we are making the very best of the years we have. This pic?
