So I bought a new bar cart for the dining room...! I love having 3 tiers, it’s super sturdy, compact (which is great for our small dining room!), and the shelves are MIRRORED which just doubles back all the sparkle and shine of our crystal decanters!!! This one is from @worldmarket and was preassembled in the store!!! LOVE. IT!!! The 2-tiered, oval vintage cart from House of Modern (circa 1961) has been moved to the library. #barcartstyling #crystaldecanters #decantercollars
Cherry blossom season will soon draw to a close, so I wanted to slip this in before it’s too late! While cherry blossoms are abundant here in the U.S., I recently listened to Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly” for the umpteenth time and it brought to mind a set I helped build for the opera here locally. We used a TON of cherry blossoms!!!!!!! Anyhoooo...details here include Royal Stafford cherry blossom dinner plates, a simple yet abundant centerpiece of faux cherry blossom stems in delicate glass vases from @nellhills, a graceful gold pagoda candleholder from @cameronshomefurnishings flanked by smaller ones from my Mom’s travels, gold-rimmed stemware and chargers, and faux bamboo flatware. Counting down to Kentucky Derby Day🏇, and the excitement is building around here! This buffet was created as a part of the tablescaping class I taught through our community college. (Most of the food is fake!) I wanted students to get ideas about buffetscaping. Note the riding boots (actually an umbrella stand, I think!) used as a holder for the French bread 🥖 , lots of traditional silver pieces, scads of traditional red roses🌹 🌹🌹, and mint julep cups in non-traditional roles. And a silver punch bowl filled with a bourbon punch of some kind is A MUST!
